The Friend of God

Adam talked to God, Moses knew him face to face
Enoch walked with God, in whose eyes Noah found grace
David had a heart for God, his name he would defend
Abraham believed God and he was called his friend

I want to be the friend of God
I want to hear him speaking just to me
One who sticks closer than a brother could be
Oh, I want to be the friend of God
