The king was asleep one night when God spoke in a dream
Solomon, just ask me, I’ll give you anything
Seriously? Anything? What would you ask for?
He said, Lord, I’m like a child, but I don’t ask for any prize
All I want is a heart that’s wise
Give me wisdom, that’s what I need to know right from wrong
Wisdom to lift up a friend and help him to be strong
I need wisdom to be holy in a world full of sin
Wisdom to know God and be more like him
So God gave him wisdom and he wrote it in a book
